National Day of Prayer

National Day of Prayer

May 2, 2013

Today is The National Day of Prayer. I would encourage you to stop and take the time to reflect on the priorities in your life and family.

Today more than ever, our lives are busy, busy and busier! We mean to get into the habit of regularly connecting with God. Nevertheless, time just seems to slip away. The office is so hectic….the client is too demanding, the patient, well you understand where I’m going with this.

Truth is if we do not make time for our quiet times with our Lord, it will never happen. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing!

If you want balance in your life, you need to ask for it from the only One who can give it to you. This applies to all areas of our life. Not just in the arena of addiction and abuse.

A Twelve Step Recovery Program coincides with this belief.

Step 2: We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

(This has been adapted from the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.)

It is my heartfelt opinion there are many good recovery programs out there. Nevertheless, do not leave Jesus out of the equation. He is your Power Source. He is the One who can and will redeem you.

Pray for our Nation today, pray for all God has called you to be, praying for your loved ones, friends and even your enemies.

God is indeed in the busy of Restoration. May you have a Blessed Day!

In His Service,

Sandra Brown
